UConn’s Edsall Staying Put
December 2, 2007 |
Connecticut coach Randy Edsall has withdrawn his name from consideration for the Georgia Tech job, saying he’s going to stay with UConn. Edsall had traveled to Atlanta to discuss the job with Yellow Jackets’ officials, but ultimately decided that it was better for him and his family to stay in Storrs. That’s too bad for Ga Tech; Edsall comes in 27th in our rankings.
Edsall is 50-52 since taking over the Huskies in 1999. He came to Connecticut from Georgia Tech, where he served as defensive coordinator for a year. So it seemed that there was a chance he’d head back down to Atlanta.
The Huskies earned a share of the Big East championship this year, with a 9-3 record. They will play Wake Forest in the Meineke Car Car bowl in December 29th.
