New Nebraska Head Football Coach Bo PeliniIt’s a weekend of mixed emotions for LSU. On one hand they beat Tennessee for the SEC title and found out Les Miles is staying, and that they get to play Ohio State for the national championship. On the other hand they officially found out their highly successful defensive coordinator is leaving.

Nebraska interim athletic director Tom Osborne introduced Bo Pelini as Nebraska’s new coach today. The 39-year-old takes over a program desperately in need of toughness and discipline. In accepting the position he’s returning to Lincoln, where he served as defensive coordinator in 2003. Oddly enough he also served as interim head coach that year after Frank Solich got fired. He led the team to a win in the Alamo Bowl.

No word yet on whether Pelini is going to coach LSU’s defense in the BCS Championship Game on Jan 7th.
