The New Nebraska Coach is…
November 29, 2007 |

Tom Osborne. Well, at least temporarily.
Osborne, already the interim athletic director, named himself interim coach so he can hit the recruiting trail. He doesn’t want recruiting efforts to get neglected while they search for a new coach. And he’s probably qualified.
Actually he’s definitely qualified. He had to take an NCAA certification test to be able to go visit recruits in their homes, and he passed on the first try.
Can you imagine being the guy administering a football test to a coach with three national championships under his belt? Let’s not forget he was a member of Congress too. Ah, don’t you just love the NCAA, with all their fancy rules and regulations?
Osborne is adamant that he’s not going to be the full-time head coach, saying his wife would kill him. Though I don’t think many Huskers fans would object if he decided to stay on.
