If It’s Miles to Michigan, Is It Old Ball Coach Time in Baton Rouge?
November 14, 2007 |
Hang with me here…
Ok, so let’s assume for a second that the rumors about Lloyd Carr retiring are true. Then let’s assume that Michigan buys out Les Miles at LSU (and he agrees to take the job). With South Carolina tanking their last four games and the natives growing restless with Steve Spurrier, is it conceivable that the Old Ball Coach would make his way to Baton Rouge?
I have to admit I didn’t come up with this thought. I got it from an article on a local Jacksonville site previewing the Florida/South Carolina showdown last week. And I also have to admit it’s a little far-fetched. Even if all the pieces fall into place I’m not sure the Tigers would want the OBC, or that he would want to leave a South Carolina program that seems to be getting the pieces together. But hey, it’s fun to run through these sorts of things, isn’t it?
