Lloyd Carr Retiring?
November 12, 2007 | 1 Comment
Rumors are circulating that Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr is set to announce his retirement after this week’s showdown with Ohio State. Michigan fan blog MGoBlog is reporting that three different sources confirmed that Carr has decided to retire, that members of the athletic department are being told, and that the announcement should come next week. In addition, FanBlogs reports that the admins of Michigan’s message board on Rivals.com are deleting posts about Carr’s possible retirement and have confirmed that they’re working on the story.
Carr came under fire earlier this year when Michigan, ranked in the AP top 5, lost a home game to Appalachian State. After the Wolverines lost their next game to Oregon there was rampant speculation that he would be fired. Instead he turned the team around. The Blue won nine straight before losing to Wisconsin this past weekend.
This should crank up all the Les Miles to Michigan rumors again…
Of course, take all of this with a huge grain of salt until there’s something more substantial.
