FSU’s Bowden Gets Another Year
November 30, 2007 |
College football’s winningest coach will hang around for at least one more year. Bobby Bowden and Florida State have agreed in principle to a contract extension through 2008. This gives Bowden a chance to hold off Joe Paterno, who is two wins behind him, for at least one more year.
At 78 he may be driving around with his left blinker on, yelling at kids to get off his lawn, and eating the Early Bird Special at Denny’s, but Bowden is hanging in there with his coaching peers. By our estimation he’s the 48th best coach this year.
