Callahan Won’t Resign; Waiting for Nebraska to Fire Him
November 7, 2007 |

“If you want your coaching job back you’re going to have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands.” Ok, I’m pretty sure Bill Callahan didn’t actually say that, but it’s pretty much the sentiment he expressed to the AP on Tuesday. He won’t resign from his head coaching post before the end of the season, even if Nebraska offers him a buyout. “That term ‘resignation’ is not in our vocabulary,” Callahan said. Unfortunately for him, the word “win” hasn’t been in their vocabulary recently either. The Huskers have lost 5 straight, being outscored 226-98 in those games. Yikes.
For the record, Coaches Hot Seat has the odds of him being fired at 1-1, so it’s probably a moot point.
